Just a random post about squatting (bored in isolation)

By now,

I think everyone who has come into contact with me in the last year know that I am OBSESSED WITH SQUATS.

My brand, my own programming, everything I do revolves around the question of ‘when’ or ‘how’ am I going to incorporate squats into this?

They have been the cornerstone of my own personal transformation, not just with my body but within my mentality and physical health too.

I’ve become committed to learning everything there is to know about this movement and how it can be used with the right type of progression to help anyone get off to the best possible start for your own fitness journey.

Whether you are struggling with a re-occuring knee injury, back pain, hip pain, sciatica there is a way to incorporate this bad ass movement into your routine to help you reduce the discomfort you are in right now.

There is a trunk load of information out there about squats. But, how many coaches or people do you know who are willing to get into the trenches, who are able to squat heavy every single day consecutively for over sixty days?

From doing this experiment myself, I’ve had to learn how to keep myself strong, to keep myself safe from injuries, how to eat to not only support my strength goals but to support fat loss too, and then prepping for my first competition, and how to vary squat variations.

There are more than two types of squats with a barbel haha.

In my program there was over 11 different variations.

Yet, when I hired a coach I was only shown how to do 1.

He said, go squat once a week…. If you are anything like me, I get frustrated when I don’t see results quickly. The weight on the bar was only going up by a few kilos every other week. I must be a weak ass…

Then it struck me, if you want to get good at anything, then you put in the hours. So, I did just that.

Within three weeks I added 65 kilos to my back squat and 50 kilos to my front squat.

Despite, all the coaches that haven’t tried this philosophy telling me that it’s impossible to gain strength if you don’t recover. I added 15 kilos within the first week of squatting daily.

It’s not a miracle.

It’s just pure grind.

I guess really this post is just to remind you that sometimes when you start your fitness journey you might have doubts, and the people that love and care about you might have doubts too…. But, in the end you have to follow your own heart. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

Nothing is impossible.
