The Squat Could Help You Lose Weight.

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

Ladies,

Who are looking to lose weight….

Do you find yourself shying away from lifting heavy cos you are afraid of getting ‘bulky?’

Once upon a time when I started my fitness journey I felt too intimidated to go train in the weights area cos’ I didn’t know what to do so I used to hover around boring myself to death on a X-trainer...

If I only knew what I do now….

Do you really know how much effort and consistent super super hardwork and specifically executed training methods go into helping females to achieve this goal?

Let me tell you it is seriously challenging as fuck for females to get ‘bulky’.

The Squat is one of those strength exercises that could transform your body in a way that will make you fuckin’ proud…. For me, it’s transformed my life.

I’m a woman like you who doesn’t wanna get huge.  I just wanna feel good in a pair of shorts and a bikini…. And get stronger and I don’t wanna have to rely on some ‘dude’ to carry my shopping.

Y’know the Squat is often referred to as the ‘King Of Exercises’.   The squat can teach you more about your character than anything else out there.

Here are 6 reasons why you should incorporate the squat into your routine (there are more but this list would be endless and I wanna keep this post as short as I can eeeek)

1. Build your booty (Develop rock solid glutes)  The squat develops your gluteus maximus and strengthens your gluteus medius and minimus which will improve lower body strength and improves stability.

2. Increase Ability to Burn More Body Fat - The squat targets multiple large muscle groups at the same time which requires a lot of energy to execute the movement properly.  You’ll burn more calories throughout the day as your body will be working harder and longer to repair itself after training.  In addition to this the more muscle you have the better your body will be at burning calories.

3. Enhanced Sports Performance - The squat is a functional movement and it has a great carryover to everyday life.  By adding weight you can easily enhance your performance in any kind of sport like running, boxing, jumping etc.

4. Better Core Strength - OK little rant… The squat is more than a leg day exercise.  It works multiple muscle groups at the same time.  I developed my abs without doing a single sit up… The squat can develop core strength and not just your abs.  I’m referring to your lower back, inner spinal stabilisers, mid back and abdominal muscles…

5. Confidence Boost - Just gonna put it out there… There is no better feeling than being able to lift more than you imagined… When you finally stop worrying about what the scale says and start focusing on how your body performs … and you finally appreciate what your body can do.

6. Helps to Prevent Injuries - A lot of injuries can come down to imbalances and weaknesses that can be remedied with squats.  A lot of women have come to me with knee injuries, lower back pain and hip pain and we have managed to reduce the pain and the risks of developing new injuries through teaching proper squat technique which can also carry over to improving posture.

There you have it….

If you want to transform your body and lose weight for good then don’t shy away from lifting heavy.

Of course… If you want to learn how to squat safely then invest in a coach ;)
